"I did not expect this sheath to be real leather, but it is. Held together on the sides only with stitching and four rivets, the sheath is open at the bottom but does not gap, and because of the structure of the scissors, there's no chance of it sliding around. As best I can tell, this is to allow air for your scissors to dry out if you holster them wet. It's a perfect fit for the bonsai scissors from the same maker, and slides easily onto a standard size belt (of 1-2" width). The scissors are at no risk of falling out when you bend over as long as you push them firmly into the sheath. This is not something for the florist who will be spending all day in the fields needing shears of different sizes, but if you're working in the shop, or just in your own garden, this is perfect for keeping your scissors out of the way and your hands free when you need them to be."
